5 Things to do in Jacksonville, Florida
October 31, 2019
The best things to do with kids in Jacksonville, Florida!
Jacksonville is the largest city in the United States by area. It is 840 square miles! They even have an airport if you prefer to fly in! Since the city is so large, it can make it challenging to figure out the best things to do. You have so much (literal) ground to cover! Here is a list of my 5 favorite family-friendly things to do in Jacksonville.
1.) Go to the Jacksonville Zoo.
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens are beautiful. The landscaping and exhibits are some of the best I have seen. There is a lot to look at and even more to do!
You can feed giraffes, ride the train, visit the splash ground, and go to the Butterfly Hollow. They have a ton of behind the scenes activities you can participate in, and they even offer a zookeeper for the day experience!
Florida gets HOT, so if you go in the summer, be sure to stop for ice cream in one of the shops!

2.) Go to the Beach.
This one is an obvious must if you are in Jacksonville. They have a beautiful beach that is very family-friendly. You can look for shells or play in the water; however, be sure to show up early if you want to find free parking. It goes quick!
3.) Go to Ikea.
This one may seem kind of silly if you have an Ikea local to you, but I went for the first time in Jacksonville, and it was awesome! The store is an experience in itself. They even have a restaurant and playground inside, which made this a new must on my trips to Jacksonville. Plus, they have great prices on things that every home could use. I love my daughter’s highchair from Ikea!
4.) Nature Trails and Parks.
Jacksonville has so many nature trails and parks that I couldn’t pick just one! There are the Big and Little Talbot Island Parks, the Fort Caroline National Memorium, Castaway Island Preserve, and many more. Pack your sunscreen and some water and get to exploring nature!
5.) Go to EverBank Field.
I have not been here, as I am not a huge football fan. However, if you are, then this a perfect place to go! Watch the Jacksonville Jaguars play and enjoy the stadium food. My parents have been multiple times with my dad’s coworkers, and they love it. They even had a pool to watch the game from!
I love Jacksonville, and I can’t wait to go back! I want to visit more of the restaurants and the zoo again now that Camilla is older. What are your favorite things to do in Jacksonville, Florida? Let me know in the comments!
